Simple Procedure for Hepatitis B & C Treatment
Confirmatory Test (PCR Test)
For all suspected positive cases, a confirmatory test (PCR Test) is done in the laboratory to check if the virus is present and active.

A specialist reviews the PCR report to confirm the presence and stage of infection.
Treatment (For Positive Cases): Hepatitis B
If the virus is active, the doctor prescribes antiviral medicines (usually long-term).
If the virus is not active, regular monitoring every six months is advised.
Treatment (for Positive Cases): Hepatitis C

This treatment of oral medicines is for 3 to 6 months, depending on the stage of liver disease. These medicines are very effective and can completely cure Hepatitis C is most patient.
Early treatment of Hepatitis C can prevent or limit the progression of liver damage.
Follow-up
12 weeks after completing treatment, another blood test (PCR) is done to confirm that the virus has been cleared from the body.
